The film was born from the urge to create a joint action between Vika Kleiman and Ariadna Pujol: the exploration of improvised dance in outdoor spaces and the challenge of rewriting it with the camera.

The first meeting is reflected in the filming that gave way to the project´s creative direction. Vika moves, exploring the space. Ariadna observes her with the camera. The piece 300113 is born.

During the creative process, they drafted the Yes Manifesto, framing the project´s territory of exploration and reflection.

In each filming session, completely improvised dance arises from an encounter with the space and the elements that compose it. The camera witnesses the action with the same uncertainty, touching the body and intervening in the space, re-writing it; it captures the unforeseen, inevitably giving it new significance.

Filming took place without a predetermined direction and without verbal communication between the artists during the improvisations.

The piece does not tell a story; it interweaves images that combine visual perspective, movement and the environment; reflecting the process of exploration and communication between them over the course of three years.

The intention during editing was to be faithful to the momentum generated during the film´s creation and in turn allow the images to converse with each other through reverberation.

Improvisation as process and result

In dance, improvisation is often used as a tool to search for and select material, which is then refined and choreographed to create a piece. The film gives visibility to improvisation as an artistic territory and aesthetic language itself.

In this film, improvisation is understood as work of constant and permeable listening to of the space in which the direction of the dance emanates from the uncertainty and fragility that creating in real-time involves.
