Ariadna Pujol

Filmmaker based in Barcelona, her native city. With a degree in Audio-visual Communication and a Masters in Documentary Film Creation, she specializes in the field of documentary film, understood as the film of the real.

She has directed various short documentaries, notably Tiurana, included in the Retrospective of Spanish Documentary Films (Cinéma du réel, Paris, 2004) dedicated to the most significant Spanish documentary films.

Subsequently, she directed Aguaviva, her first feature length documentary, screened at various international film festivals (San Sebastián, London, Shanghai, Buenos Aires…) and awarded the Audience’s Prize for the Best Documentary of the Festival of Malaga 2006.

In recent years she has realized projects of different types: documentaries, films for international bodies, visual poems and video dance.

She has filmed and collaborated with dancers, performers, improvisers, musicians and poets. These experiences have led her to explore the cinematographic gaze in an intuitive way, aiming for a minimum film device in the search for an intimate connection with the reality she observes through the camera's lense.
